Sports Medicine

Sports Medicine at GRMC consists of a team of caregivers that include certified athletic trainers, physical therapists, massage therapists and occupational therapists that work closely with team physicians from Southwest Bone and Joint Institute. This core sports medicine team has also recruited health care professionals in other specialties from the community to assist with special needs of athletes when appropriate.

These services include: pre-season physicals to address any deficiencies before athletes begin workouts, rehabilitation services provided at the outpatient rehabilitation center and/or at the high school training room after an injury or surgery occurs and educational seminars for coaches, athletes and other healthcare providers in the community.

In addition, the sports medicine team provides sports medicine services to the Tour of the Gila Bike Race, the Silver City PRCA Rodeo, the Signal Peak Challenge, and the New Mexico Shootout.
