Dr. Martin is a board certified cardiologist and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He grew up in Tucson, Arizona and graduated from the University of Arizona, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology in 1985. Dr. Martin also graduated from the University of Arizona, College of Medicine in 1989 where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Oakland Naval Hospital in California and then served at the Yokosuka Naval Hospital in Japan as a general internist for three years. Dr. Martin returned to complete his cardiology fellowship at the Naval Medical Center San Diego in California in 1998.
Most recently, Dr. Martin spent the past fifteen years as the head of the cardiology division at the Bremerton Naval Hospital in Washington State and while there, served in numerous administrative and leadership positions, as well as deploying twice in support of Operation Enduring Iraqi Freedom. He retired from the United States Navy with the rank of Captain in 2013.
An award winning patient and medical educator, Dr. Martin comes to Silver City bringing his clinical expertise back to his southwest roots. He is married and has three grown children.
