Lithotripsy

Lithotripsy treatments for patients with kidney stones are available at Gila Regional Medical Center. The hospital is leasing an E2000 lithotripter, which uses shock waves to break kidney stones into small pieces the size of grains of sand.

Lithotripsy is used to remove kidney stones that are causing:
  • Pain
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Bleeding
  • Harm to your kidney

Check with your physician if you experience any of these symptons. The Urologist on staff at GRMC is Amos L. Lash, MD. Check our Doctor's Directory.

The E2000 lithotripter comes from Medispec, Ltd., the Maryland manufacturer that is the main manufacturer of lithotripters in the United States. The lithotripter can be used in combination with any standard C-arm imaging system.
