PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT REHAB

Job summary: The physical therapy assistant (PTA) will have and use the knowledge of the regulations governing physical therapy and PTA’s and function within accepted boundaries of physical therapy practice as defined by the New Mexico State Board of Physical Therapy, Standards and policies accepted by the American Physical Therapy Association, Gila Regional Medical Center and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The physical therapy assistant will function and collaborate with other members of the health care team to provide optimum patient care.
Qualifications required:

Licensed in the state of New Mexico as a Physical Therapy Assistant. If a temporary license, must have a permanent license within 6 months of hire.

CPR certification or willingness to obtain CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
Other comments: · Outpatient requirement”: Ability to pass the departmental Aquatic Competency Test within 30 days of hire.
· Normally Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Work requirements may also occur before or after usual working hours or days.
