PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT/NURSE PRACTITIONER

Job summary: The Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA) will provide Emergency Room Assessment and treatment under the supervision of the physician in the Emergency Room. In accordance with their knowledge base, experience, competence and within the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department practice standards.
The delivery of quality service and positive interaction with our customers, internal and external is critical to the completion of the tasks required. The NP/PA is responsible for establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, GRMC caregivers and physicians. The relationship is expected to be courteous, respectful and professional. Guidelines include all GRMC policies and procedures, the State of New Mexico practice act as well as all Federal regulatory acts.
Qualifications required: Graduate of an accredited NP Program or
Completion of Physician Assistant Certification
ACLS Certification
PALS Certification with in 6 months of being hired
ATLS Preferred
Current NM State License through the board of Pharmacy
Current DEA License
Minimum of 2 years experience in an Emergency Room Preferred
Other comments: Normally Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Work requirements may also occur before or after usual working hours.
