CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT REHAB

Job summary: 

The certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) will have and use the knowledge of the regulations governing occupational therapy and COTA’s and function within accepted boundaries of occupational therapy practice as defined by the New Mexico State Board of Occupational Therapy, Standards and policies accepted by the American Occupational Therapy Association, Gila Regional Medical Center and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The COTA will function and collaborate with other members of the health care team to provide optimum patient care.


 
 
Qualifications required: 
  •     Licensed in the state of New Mexico as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. If a temporary or provisional license, must have a permanent license within 6 months of hire.

 
Other comments: 
  •  CPR certification or willingness to obtain CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
  • *Outpatient requirement*: Ability to pass the departmental Aquatic Competency Test within 30 days of hire.
  • NOTE:  Job description available upon request.
