HOME CARE SERVICES PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT

Job summary:  The Home Health Physical Therapy Assistant shall have and use the knowledge of the statutes and regulations governing physical therapy and function within accepted boundaries of physical therapy practice as defined by the New Mexico State Board of Physical Therapy. Standards and policies accepted by the American Physical Therapy Association, Gila Regional Medical Center and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations will also be adhered to by the Physical therapy assistant. The Home Health Physical Therapy Assistant will function and collaborate withother members of the health care team to provide optimum patient care. The Physical Therapy Assistant will conduct medically prescribed physical therapy programs based on the evaluation and plan of care established by a licensed physical therapist.
 
 
Qualifications required: 

• Licensed in the state of New Mexico as a Physical Therapy Assistant or eligible to obtain a temporary license upon initiation of patient care and permanent license within 6 months.
• No formal experience is required but it is preferred.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
• Must have current New Mexico driver’s license and automobile liability insurance per New Mexico State law.

 
Other comments: 

• Normally, the schedule for this position is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, however, hours may be increased or decreased as needed.
• Must be flexible with scheduling. As assigned, will assume call responsibilities as well as work weekends and holidays on rotational basis.
