The Home Health Occupational Therapy Assistant shall have and use the knowledge of the statutes and regulations governing occupational therapy and function within accepted boundaries of occupational therapy practice as defined by the New Mexico State Board of Occupational Therapy.  Standards and policies accepted by the American Occupational Therapy Association, Gila Regional Medical Center and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations will also be adhered to by the Occupational therapy assistant.  The home health occupational therapy assistant will function and collaborate with other members of the health care team to provide optimum patient care.  The Occupational therapy assistant will conduct medically prescribed occupational therapy programs based on the evaluation and plan of care established by a licensed occupational therapist.

• Licensed in the state of New Mexico as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• No formal experience is required but it is preferred.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment.

• Normally, the schedule for this position is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, however, hours may be increased or decreased as needed.
• As assigned, will assume on call responsibilities as well as work weekends and holidays on rotational basis.
