Job summary: The Emergency Department RN is a Registered Professional nurse who is
responsible for Triage, assessing, planning, directing, evaluation and delivery of patient care in the Emergency Department for his/her on duty shift. The RN provides direct patient care, designates patient assignments to assist clinical ER staff and is responsible for provision of safe, prudent, economical patient care according to his/her thorough knowledge and skills as an RN, GRMC standards of nursing care and emergency room standards of care. He/she is responsible to provide patient care in compliance with the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act and the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. (JCAHO).
Qualifications required:

Current NM license with biannual renewal.

Current BLS – AHA – Certification

ACLS Certification required – may be obtained within one year.

PALS- required- may be obtained within 1 year..

Emergency Room Department or other critical care experience preferred, however, at least 1-2 years of Medical-Surgical Experience
Other comments:
-
Normally 8-12 hour shifts.

Occasional 4-hour shifts may be scheduled.

Must be able to work every other weekend, holidays and as needed.

Must be willing an able to work any shift needed.

Must be flexible with scheduling requirements.

May be asked to take on-call or work extra hours to assist in department coverage
