MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST ASCP Certified/Non-certified RPT

Job summary:  Under the direction of the Laboratory Services Director, Supervisors and/or Medical Director conducts a variety of laboratory procedures for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Evaluates new procedures. Performs testing on automated and manual procedures. Problem solves, performs QC/QA as needed, performs phlebotomy; and other duties as assigned
 
 
Qualifications required:  MT:

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with specialized training in medical technology or directly related field. Must be certified as a MT by ASCP or NCA.

MLT:

• (Certified)
  Equivalent to an associate degree with specialized training in medical technology or directly related field. Must be certified as a MLT by ASCP, NCA or state license board and keep active while employed.
  
  
• (Non- Certified)
  Must become certified as a MLT by ASCP or NCA within one year and keep active.
  

 
Other comments: 

Requires flexible with scheduling.

Normally Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:30 .m.  Work requirements may also occur before or after usual working hours such as working second or third shift.
