R.N. SPECIAL CARE UNIT Per Diem B-SHIFT

Job summary: The special Care Unit RN is a is a Registered Professional Nurse who is responsible for assessing, determining the nursing diagnoses, identifying expected outcomes, planning interventions to attain expected outcomes, develop a plan of care for the critically ill patient, implement the plan of care, and evaluate the plan of care on a continuous basis for the SCU patient. The SCU nurse communicates with other staff members, the physician, and family members, the assessment, and plan of care daily. The SCU RN maintains the highest level of personal and professional standards in ethics.
Qualifications required: · Maintains current New Mexico Licensure.
· BLS certification required on entry and maintained.
· ACLS and Pals certification required and maintained. May be obtained with-in 6 months of hire date
· Critical care or Emergency room experience preferred. 1 year of med/surg experience preferred.
· CCRN review course after the first year of employment.
· Must be a Team Player.
· Stays current with all test and requirements for GRMC and SCU
Other comments: · Normal assigned shift times are either 0700-1900 or 1900-0700
· Normally worked shifts are 3 days or 3 night or a combination there of per week
· May be required to work some weekends
· May be asked to work extra shifts throughout the pay period.
