The Annual Gila Classic Golf Tournament is September 8th through the 10th at the Silver City Golf Course.
All of the Gila Classic events are for amateurs, and it’s about having fun with the entire family, and your friends, to raise money for our hospital’s new Cancer Center. Teams are being formed for individuals who want to play.
A new competition: the “Gila Monster Drive Contest is Friday night and the winner will gain the title of “2006 Long Drive Champion for southwest New Mexico”.
The Friday night putting contest (hosted by the Rotary Club) is also open to the public of all ages, to determine the most skilled putter in the region. Saturday and Sunday the Gila Classic Tournament, a four-person scramble format, will take place.
There will be great prizes, (including a brand new car for a hole-in-one), wonderful food and plenty of good times for everyone!
