Commissioners Vote to Keep Gila Regional County-Owned

On Thursday, July 19, 2018 the Grant County Board of Commissioners voted to keep Gila Regional Medical Center as an independent, county-owned regional medical center.

Taffy Arias, CEO of GRMC, said "We welcome this decision. It is evident that a great deal of research and discussion was put into this very important decision."

Arias added, "We offer our heart-felt appreciation to our community. Your support was overwhelming, and we are sincerely grateful."

Arias said, "The GRMC Board of Trustees, Jeremiah Garcia, Past Chair, Victor Nwachuku, MD, Michael Morones, Tony Trujillo, Tsering Sherpa, MD, Joel Schram, and Jeannie A. Miller, must be recognized for volunteering countless hours dedicated to making our hospital one of the top 100 Rural and Community Hospitals in the United States. No one has committed more to providing compassionate health care to our community than the caregivers, physicians and Board of Trustees of Gila Regional Medical Center"

Arias finished by saying, "The physicians and caregivers of GRMC remain dedicated to providing the highest level of patient care in the region."
