Gila Regional Medical Center is proud to announce that Jan Huartson has been awarded the 4th Annual Carmen Gonzalez Hospice Volunteer of the Year (2011).
Jan has been an invaluable member of the GRMC hospice volunteer team since 2009. She brings her deeply compassionate nature to patients' homes, establishing strong bonds of trust with both the patients and their families during this deeply personal time. Jan likes making 'dream pillows' which are very popular with our patients. She is also a member of the hospital's Auxiliary program.
The Carmen Gonzalez Award is named for GRMC's 'original' hospice volunteer. Carmen has been volunteering for GRMC Hospice Program since 1991.
Thank you to both these women and to our whole team of hospice volunteers for their invaluable service to our community.
Gila Regional Hospice is a community-based, not-for-profit outreach program of GRMC since 1991, providing compassionate comfort care to terminally ill patients and their families.
