Donation Helps Auxiliary Buy Cancer Patient Lunches
More than 125 free lunches will be served to patients receiving treatment at the Gila Regional Cancer Center because of a generous donation made by 1st New Mexico Bank of Silver City to the Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC) Auxiliary.
In 2008 the GRMC Auxiliary volunteers began the Cancer Center Lunch Program. Over 400 free meals a year that nourish body and soul are served to cancer patients receiving chemotherapy, infusion or radiation treatment at the GRMC Cancer Center.
This program is funded by community donations large and small. "Thank you to 1st New Mexico Bank of Silver City for their continued support of the GRMC Auxiliary Cancer Center Lunch Program," stated Mary Jo Tillman, Auxiliary Treasure. "We and the patients are most grateful."
