The Gila Regional Pharmacy promotes medication safety by utilizing the latest technology in medication dispensing including bar codes and the Pyxis 4000 Medstations. Pharmacy maintains an active clinical program with our pharmacy director, 4 full-time pharmacists, 1 PRN pharmacist, and 4 full-time pharmacy technicians.

Our clinical pharmacists are board certified in pharmacotherapy, ambulatory care, and critical care by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. All medication orders are screened for appropriate dosing, interactions, and contraindications. In addition, the pharmacy maintains an active antimicrobial stewardship program assuring our patients receive the most appropriate antibiotic for any infection.

All IV solutions are prepared in certified clean rooms meeting the strict sterile standards mandated by USP 797. The pharmacy is staffed by a director, three full time and one part time pharmacist, a clinical pharmacist and five technicians. The GRMC Pharmacy is also a training site for pharmacy students from the University of New Mexico and University of Arizona.

The GRMC Pharmacy Department provides services to patients within the hospital only. It is not a retail pharmacy servicing the public.
